County Commissioner Gregg Weiss, State Rep. Emily Gregory and Rep. Lois Frankel have each asked the FAA to add 60 days to the comment period. The FAA has not extended the deadline, which is still October 2: comment now, and treat any extension as a bonus.

The airport reported 58 noise complaints in the first ten months of 2025, and 622 from October 20, when the restriction took effect, through early January 2026, as flights were diverted onto alternative paths over Palm Beach and West Palm Beach neighborhoods.
