Why give
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is now deciding whether to make the flight restriction around Mar-a-Lago permanent. What happens next depends on evidence the agency and the courts will take seriously, and on residents knowing what is at stake. Both cost money.
The size of the gift matters less than the number of people giving. When an agency, a court, or an elected official looks at who stands behind an organization, hundreds of small contributions from residents say something that one large check cannot.
Where the money goes
- Legal and expert work: our largest cost. Counsel to prepare for the final rule and any court review, and independent aviation and noise experts to test the FAA’s analysis with data.
- Public awareness: reaching neighbors in Palm Beach and West Palm Beach who do not yet know how this decision affects them.
- Public relations: making sure the press and elected officials hear the residents’ side accurately.
- Operations: the basic costs of running a volunteer organization properly.
